Coating Fabrics

Coating fabrics are top selling materials today for jackets & fashion apparel.

Fabric sourcing is the key to making the right garment out of the right fabric. The demand for new and innovative fabrics is as high as the demand for new models and designs.

Luckily we are in an area of constant innovation and renewal when it comes to fabrics. Our office is less than an hour away from Keqiao textile city, and less then two hours away from most fabric making zones in Jiangsu. To make sure we don’t miss anything we also regularly visit Guangdong province to keep up to date with the developments there. Our company also attends all important trade fairs to keep up to date on all that is new.

For most brands and retailers that can meet normal MOQ we can meet almost every fabric request. For brands with a bigger budget we also have the option to import fabrics from Korea, Taiwan or Japan.

Chinese made fabrics are getting better and more fashionable each year, while pricing is still very competitive.

All fabrics get the necessary testing done before bulk production. Test we do are seam strength, colour bleeding, colour fastness, anti-pilling and shrinkage. In case of suspicion we also test for harmful materials. Some testing we do in-house using our own equipment, other testing we outsource to professional labs.

Fabrics in the attached pictures have been printed with foil. The foil is applied by heat, either covering the entire fabric or in a pattern. Popular patterns to make are animal skins. Some foil has a leather look. That technique can also be referred to as PU coating or laminate. It has been popular for many years and will still be popular for the years to come.

Between background choice and coating material/pattern choice possibilities are endless. Coating or foil ca be applied to most woven or knitted base fabrics. Even fur, lace, suede or jacquard fabric can now be processed for foil coating. Some base fabrics with loose structures such as fur or jacquard will have more of a damaged look and wear of after time, creating a natural distress effect.  Other fabrics which have a more compact structure can have solid coating layers that do not crack or wear off.
